“DSPL enabled us to collaborate with other mobility innovators at the lab, keeping us at the cutting edge of current and future technologies. Participating in the DSPL allowed us to explore the feasibility of autonomous, connected, and electrified mobility innovations. It was an excellent experience and one that we would recommend to anyone looking to further innovate and learn.”

What they’re doing at the lab

Enterprise conducted the first ever project in the Detroit Smart Parking Lab (DSPL), testing how automated valet parking technology can apply to the quick turnaround process where rental vehicles are returned, cleaned, fueled or charged, and staged for future rentals. As consumer demand and infrastructure viability increases in the coming years, these types of vehicle technology will play an increasingly important role in both the future of sustainable mobility overall and our fleet at Enterprise.
